Concourse D and Terminal Wings Expansion

BNA Vision will revive and expand Nashville International Airport’s fourth concourse, Concourse D, enlarge the existing Ticketing Lobby and Baggage Claim and renovate existing space in the central terminal.

  • 115,000-square-foot Concourse D
  • 6 domestic aircraft gates to increase capacity to attract new airlines and services
  • New dining and retail options
  • Central Utility Plant
  • 200,000 square feet of new space will be added to the north and south ends of the terminal
  • Expanded Ticketing Lobby
  • 4 new Baggage Claim carousels
  • Renovation of 136,000 square feet of existing terminal space
  • Design and construction by the Hensel Phelps and Fentress Architects team

When will it be finished?

Anticipated completion date is Summer 2020.

How will travelers be impacted?

Travelers might notice some new dust walls in the Ticketing Lobby and Baggage Claim, and curbside construction fences on the Departures and Arrivals levels.

Terminal Parking Garage and Airport Administrative Office Building

This project will include a six-level parking garage near the terminal, a new office building and pedestrian plaza.

  • 3,000-space terminal parking garage directly across from the terminal (built in the footprint of the old Short Term Garage, which has been demolished)
  • New Valet Parking area on the ground level
  • 64,000-square-foot airport administrative office building, which will replace BNA’s existing office space on the fourth floor of the terminal, and provide space for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other airport services
  • Pedestrian plaza on the fifth level
  • Design and construction by the Messer Construction Co. and Moody Nolan team.

When will it be finished?

Completion of the parking garage is anticipated in Spring 2020, and the office building and pedestrian plaza are scheduled for completion in Early 2021.

How will travelers be impacted?

The old Short Term Parking Garage has been demolished. A bigger, better, modern garage is being built in its place.

Other BNA Vision Projects

By 2041, the population of the Greater Nashville Area is expected to surpass 2.5 million people. By 2023, BNA passenger traffic will grow from 17 million today to more than 21 million. BNA Vision is the dynamic expansion plan designed to get in front of this growth and maintain Nashville International Airport as a world-class airport.
